Khalid M. Khan, PhD, MEM, MSc

Dr. Khan is a dedicated researcher and educator with expertise in environmental epidemiology, focusing on vulnerable populations such as children and adolescents. His research spans two main areas: investigating neurobehavioral health effects of environmental exposures and evaluating community-based interventions to reduce health disparities. With extensive experience spanning the United States, Egypt, Ecuador, India, and Bangladesh, Dr. Khan has studied the impacts of various contaminants on mental health and neurodevelopment. Currently, his research explores the early-life endocrine-disruption potential of environmental contaminants and interventions to minimize chemical and microbiological exposures in vulnerable populations. Apart from research, Dr. Khan teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in population health and actively publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also involved in national and international conferences, contributing to the field of global health. Dr. Khan holds a Dr.PH from Columbia University, an MEM from Griffith University, and an M.Sc from the University of Dhaka. He is recognized for his contributions as a member of the Global Health Workforce Panel and as a grant reviewer for the US National Academy of Science. Additionally, he leads funded projects, including a study on mixed metal-induced neurotoxicity in Bangladeshi children. Selected publications showcase his research on arsenic exposure, urban traffic, and hearing conservation education.
