I am a Professor in Applied Statistics and Data Science at the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I earned my BSc and MSc in ‘Applied Statistics’ from the University of Dhaka, and I further pursued an additional MSc in Statistics through the ‘Commonwealth Shared Scholarship 2006’ at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. In 2015, I successfully completed my PhD in Statistics from Queen Mary University of London, supported by the ‘Doctoral Training Account (DTA)’ scholarship of Queen Mary, United Kingdom. Presently, I am on a one-year research fellowship at the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Control, Evora University, Portugal.

My research focuses on various areas, including Bayesian statistics, bio-statistics, public health, design of experiments, mixed modelling, data science, and big data. I possess proficient knowledge in statistical software such as R, SPSS, STATA, WinBUGS, Minitab, and SAS. Currently, I am actively learning Python and SQL to further enhance my analytical skills.

For academic and professional endeavours, I have had the privilege of travelling to the USA, UK, Australia, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Portugal, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and India. I maintain an ongoing research collaboration with PPDS (Public Health Professional Association), where I serve as an Adviser to the organisation.
